Are you afraid of change?
So many of us are, but remember the saying: “The only constant in life is change.”
Nature gives us at least four reminders of that every year with the change of seasons. So, as we head into fall, let’s remember that change is a good, natural, and healthy part of life.🍂
Humans are a part of the natural world, and we need to change with time, just like everything else. We can’t grow if we insist on staying the same – any more than a tree can grow next spring if it doesn’t lose its leaves this time of year.
One challenge we often face when embracing change is comparing ourselves to past versions of who we used to be. Maybe you look back and think, “I used to be stronger,” or “I used to have more energy,” or "I used to have a smaller/larger/differently-abled body." (I know I have🙋🏾♀️) But just like the seasons, we’re meant to evolve. That younger version of you had her time, and she helped shape who you are today.
Rather than holding on to what was, embrace who you are *right now*—the person you’ve become. You’ve gained wisdom, strength, and resilience over the years. Those qualities are just as powerful as anything from your past. Growth isn’t about going back; it’s about moving forward.
So, if you’re thinking about making a change – like starting an exercise program or improving your relationship with food – first consider your options, make your best-informed decision -- and then LET GO...
...of fear.
...of the need to control everything.
...of the past version of yourself that no longer serves who you are today.
Let it all go. Embrace the rhythms of nature and start taking action to see the change you desire.
You got this. 🖤
